Johnson, Coordinator, Georgia Forestry Commission, Forest Health Accomplishment Report 2004The GFC utilized the services of Wesley Wells making this his fourth year of surveying for this insect. He began the survey year in May with the 65 locations that import cargo using Solid Wood Packing Material from southeastern Asian countries. Five of these sites no longer utilize this type of packing material, but 10 additional sites have been added to the survey bringing the total to 70 businesses throughout Georgia. Each location is checked monthly (through November) bringing the number of inspections to around 500 visits. Additionally, traps have been placed as requested by APHIS personnel at several locations. |
